Frederick Bright

Postdoctoral Fellow

I’m fascinated by how bacteria evolve clever ways to resist antibiotics that once worked so well. During my PhD at the University of Basel, I co-developed a high-throughput imaging method (ASCT) to study mycobacterial killing at an unprecedented scale.

Here in the Brun Lab, I”m excited to use automated, high-content screening tools to combine phenotypic profiling of diverse compounds with genome-wide CRISPRi libraries in Klebsiella pneumoniae, aiming to uncover novel mechanisms of action and identify potential new drug targets.

Off the clock, I love exploring new cities, tasting local flavors, and chasing good vibes wherever I go.
